Project Number: CP07-037b Project Description: Wetland Restoration Enviroscapes performed wetland restoration activities at the Zschiegner Refining Company superfund site in Howell Township, New Jersey. The Zschiegner facility is located on a vacant 6.1-acre parcel in a rural area of Howell Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey. From the 1960s to the early 1990s, a precious metals recovery operation was located on the facility property. On-site operations included the chemical stripping of precious metals from watch bands, film, and electrical components. The facility was demolished and is closed down in the 1990s. The work was performed under a USACE contract.
Fort Dix Sanitary Landfill
Project Location: Fort Dix, NJ
Project Number: CP09-064a Project Description: Landfill Maintenance Enviroscapes has conducted landscape maintenance, including mowing, weed trimming, herbicide application, fertilizing, and seeding at the Fort Dix Sanitary Landfill in Fort Dix, New Jersey for over nine (9) years. Fort Dix is located in Burlington and Ocean Counties, New Jersey, approximately 20 miles southeast of Trenton and is a permanent Class I Army installation that occupies approximately 31,110 acres. Fort Dix is a major training and mobilization center for the Reserve Component Soldiers - the Army Reserve and National Guard. During an installation restoration program, a preliminary assessment and site inspection was performed at Fort Dix. Several potentially contaminated sites were identified, including the Fort Dix Sanitary Landfill. The Fort Dix Sanitary Landfill was placed on the National Priorities List in 1987.

Project Number: CP08-157a Project Description: Switchgrass/Redtop Seeding Enviroscapes conducted landscape restoration services for the U.S. Army National Guard, at the Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The Naval Air Engineering Station (NAES) Lakehurst (also known as NAVAIR Lakehurst), is the northeast's largest naval aviation installation and home to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, as well as fourteen joint and interagency commands. NAVAIR Lakehurst is the world leader in Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE).
McGuire AFB, Former BOMARC Missile Site
Project Location: Route 539, near mile marker 31; Ocean County, NJ
Project Number: CP06-215 Project Description: Clearing Activities Enviroscapes conducted clearing activities at the McGuire AFB, in the former BOMARC missile site. The McGuire BOMARC site measures approximately 2,500' long by 1,800' wide. It was built with a total of 56 individual BOMARC A missile launch buildings, and an additional 28 individual BOMARC B missile launch buildings. The McGuire BOMARC site was activated in 1959, and was manned by the 46th Air Defense Missile Squadron.
Husky Brook Restoration Project
Project Location: Fort Monmouth, Borough of Eatontown, NJ
Project Number: CP06-232 Project Description: Streambank Restoration Fort Monmouth is an installation of the Department of the Army in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The post covers nearly 1,126 acres of land, referred to as the 'Main Post'. A separate area, Camp Charles Wood, includes housing, a golf course, and additional office and laboratory facilities. A rail line, owned by Conrail, runs through Camp Charles Wood and out to Naval Weapons Station Earle. The post was selected for closure by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission in 2005 and is closed to all but authorized personnel.
NAVAIR Lakehurst

Project Number: CP06-282a Project Description: Switch Grass Seeding Services At the Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst (NAVAIR), an active military installation in Lakehurst, New Jersey, Enviroscapes conducted permanent seeding services. The Naval Air Engineering Station (NAES) Lakehurst host NAVAIR and over twenty other tenants. With a rich heritage as the nation’s lighter-than-air center, Navy Lakehurst is now the Department of Defense’s Aircraft Platform Interface expert. Sharing common borders with Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base, this 42,000 acre Joint Installation Partnership is strategically located in the populous northeast corridor, near New York City and Philadelphia.
Fort Monmouth Restoration Project

Project Number: CP06-195 Project Description: Walking Trail Improvements, Wildflower Area Seeding and Planting, Wildflower/Meadow Enhancement, and Nature Trail Restoration Enviroscapes conducted a series of restoration projects at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, including walking trail improvements, nature trail restoration, wildflower seeding and planting, and meadow enhancement. Fort Monmouth is an installation of the Department of the Army in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The post is surrounded by the communities of Eatontown, Tinton Falls and Oceanport, New Jersey, and is located about one mile from the Atlantic Ocean. The post covers nearly 1,126 acres (4.56 km2) of land, from the Shrewsbury River on the east, to Route 35 on the west; this area is referred to as 'Main Post'. A separate area (Camp Charles Wood) to the west includes post housing, a golf course, and additional office and laboratory facilities.
Former Raritan Arsenal
Project Location: Edison, NJ
Project Number: CP08-103 Project Description: Vegetation Mowing Activities Enviroscapes conducted vegetation-mowing activities at the former Raritan arsenal site in Edison, New Jersey. The site is located within the Raritan Center area on the banks of the Raritan River in Middlesex County. The arsenal consisted of approximately 3,200 acres and was operated by the Army from 1917 to 1963. Operations at the arsenal included the receipt, storage and shipment and/or decommissioning of ordnance, arms and machinery. |
