Landscape Construction at Impaired PropertiesEnviroscapes provides landscape restoration services to select clients involved in on-site remediation activities. Initially we properly document existing landscapes prior to remedial activities. Enviroscapes will document existing tree types and sizes, shrub type and sizes and grasses. In most cases we meet with the homeowners, through the client, to review the existing landscape information and determine whether there are any unique plant materials that should be protected or that may require a specialized nursery to obtain similar quality replacement material. Furthermore, we recognize and discuss with the property owner that large trees and shrubs greater than 5- 10 years in age may not be replaced in kind. We then work to replace those items with plant material of comparable size to the newly developed plan. This landscaping usually consists of flowers, ground covers, shrubs and trees. Enviroscapes then utilizes the services of a landscape architect, as a subcontractor to our firm, to develop a detailed drawing of the property, documenting the existing landscape and the newly proposed landscape, and have the property owner sign off on the drawing. Once remedial activities have been completed, we coordinate with the client on the proper time of year to plant and complete the project. Since the amount of rainfall is critical to a revegetation project, we advise our clients and property owners to plant at the appropriate time of year. Many landscape projects otherwise properly conceived and implemented, have failed disastrously because they did not receive the proper amount of moisture to ensure germination and survival. Overall proper planning and implementation will greatly improve a projects chance of success. Enviroscapes clientele include environmental consultants, environmental contractors and public utilities. Enviroscapes has completed landscape restoration activities at over 100 residential and commercial impaired properties under this scenario. |
